Pride H asked:
I answered an add for a 21 day free trial. Of’course you had to pay $3.97 shp ( This is how they get your debit #) 21 days later, I’ve been billed an additional $80 and STILL no product has arrived!! Calls to the company say ” it’s in the mail” ( It takes 6 to 8 hours of buisy tones before getting through)

Take the incident as a lesson to NEVER give your debit/credit card/checking info to “free trials”….oldest trick in the book, and legal for the most part. They make it such a hassle to cancel/refund that people just give up, that’s how they make their money, not off the product you might eventually get…Oldest rick in the book, bummer they got you, too. Many of these shadow companies sell hundreds of ‘different’ products we have all seen online or on tv, not just one or two things.
Call your state Attorney General and report it to your states BBB, although they will already have thousands of complaint already about the same company, you might be included in a civil action case in the future..
Good luck

hi
first of all i do not know if you have read the contract copy if you were provided one… they will continue to charge you the $80.00 charges if you do not cancel with in 14 days of the trial charge which never arrives on time… call back the company ( you are a lucky person if you get through).. tell them you haven’t received the product and you want to cancel it.. unless you are very desperate to use it as the rest of the products also never arrive and ask them to give you a cancellation confirmation number .. if you cannot get through try at least thrice and document all the dates and time.. and contact your credit/ debit card company with a signed letter stating that you NEVER AUTHORIZED ANY CHARGES EXCEPT THE FIRST TRIAL CHARGE AND YOU HAVE CANCELED OR TRIED TO CANCEL l with them and remember if you are charged on different names it is advisable to send a separate letter on each of the names stating that you have never authorized this merchant to charge you and provide your attempts to resolve.. it doesn’t matter if all the dates and cancellation numbers are the same…also ask your credit/debit card Company to close the old account and issue you a new account.. this will help them resolve your situation at the earliest.. if all this info is provided to them in the first instance.. there is greater chance of you getting a refund from your credit/debit card company immediately

Unfortunately I don’t think there is much you can do other than report the charge as fraudulent to your credit card company.
In the fine print when you order, they explain that you are signing up for recurring monthly billing. Because they include that in the fine print, I don’t think there is any legal action you can take against them.
The one thing you CAN do is report it to your bank as fraudulent. Tell them you signed up for a free trial and made every effort to cancel before the free trial was up, but that the company was unreachable. It will take a bit of paperwork and a lot of time, but at least those scumbags won’t have your money.
For future reference, don’t believe anything you read about diet pills on those personal “blog” style sites talking about how they lost 40 pounds in 2 months on an acai berry diet. Those are all fake sites thrown up by salesman who get a commission when you order a free trial through their link.
The only place you can get honest reviews are sites like or for diet pills,. The users submitting reviews on those sites have nothing to gain, so you’ll here just the facts.
I hope everything goes well for you and you get your money back.

Report them – I’ve read about a lot of people having the same trouble with various acai scams, which is a shame, because it’s a useful supplement to take.
